North Shore Community Health Becomes RIZE Grant Recipient
In 2024, North Shore Community Health (NSCH) became one of the 82 recipients of the RIZE grant to combat the overdose crisis. By granting over $6 million, RIZE Massachusetts’ wanted to build partnerships with local communities who do direct on-the-ground work. Their ultimate shared vision is “zero stigma, zero deaths.”
In particular, NSCH was one of the eight awarded organizations that create linkages of care–those on the frontlines to directly combat treatment barriers. Our Recovery Services department, led by Jenilee Feldman-Gombkoto, RN, has partnered with Dr. Shuchi Khosla, MD at Massachusetts General Brigham at Salem Hospital to facilitate not only our partnership, but also follow up with patients who are seen in the Emergency Department at Salem Hospital. NSCH has a Treatment Navigator at Salem Hospital to walk patients through long-term treatment options. This grant also allows the Substance Use Disorder department to expand our naloxone distribution efforts and creating comprehensive support to our community.
