WHY GET VACCINATED
The vaccine is free, safe and can prevent you from getting sick from the virus that causes COVID-19. The more people who get the vaccine, the less COVID-19 will spread—and the quicker life will start getting back to normal.
HOW DOES THE VACCINE WORK?
The COVID-19 vaccines are not an injection of the live virus and do not change your DNA. These vaccines help our bodies develop immunity to the virus that causes COVID-19 without having to get the virus. The three available vaccines work in similar ways, leaving the body with a “memory supply” of how to fight the COVID-19 virus in the future.
WHO CAN GET THE VACCINE?
People age 5 and older who live, work, or study in Massachusetts are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccinate. North Shore Community Health is offering patients ages 6 months and above vaccinations.
WHEN WILL THE VACCINES BECOME AVAILABLE
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) is managing the distribution of the vaccines for the entire state. North Shore Community Health does not always know when we will receive our shipments or how much we will get. We are committed to providing our patients with vaccines as soon as they are available.
